Set up the PiTower OLED and power button

Install the small service that drives the OLED and the power button, switch on I2C bus 0 and restart — then watch the stats come up and shut the Pi down from the button. The case’s real setup steps, on a simulated Raspberry Pi 5 inside it.

  1. Get the setup files

The PiTower is assembled around a Raspberry Pi 5 that boots Raspberry Pi OS from an NVMe SSD, on a 5V 5A USB-C supply. The fans run already; the OLED stays dark until its service is installed.

The setup files are on GitHub. Update the package lists, make sure git is installed, and clone them into your home folder.

    • sudo apt update
    • sudo apt install -y git
    • git clone https://github.com/Elecrow-RD/Small-Mini-PC-Case.git
  2. Copy the files into place

  3. Install the libraries and start the services

  4. Switch on I2C bus 0 and restart

  5. Check the OLED and the power button

This is a simulation of the case’s setup steps. The setup files, service names and what the OLED shows come from the case’s setup repository on GitHub; command output is modelled on Raspberry Pi OS and varies with your OS version.
