Setup lab · 3.5" Pi Zero screen

Set up the 3.5" screen on a Raspberry Pi Zero

Run the one-line installer for the model printed on your screen, restart, then check the picture, touch and brightness knob — the same steps as our MZP351HV00BR guide, on a simulated Pi Zero 2 W with the screen attached.

Simulated setup
  • Raspberry Pi Zero 2 W
  • iUniker 3.5" screen (MZP351HV00BR_2025), soldered on
  • Raspberry Pi OS (64-bit) written with Raspberry Pi Imager
  • SSH from your computer, HDMI unplugged

  1. Check the board and OS

The screen is already soldered onto a Raspberry Pi Zero 2 W, and Raspberry Pi OS was written with Raspberry Pi Imager with Wi-Fi and SSH turned on. The LCD shows only its backlight until the setup is done, so you’re connected over SSH with HDMI unplugged.

First confirm the board and the OS: Pi Zero and Zero W need 32-bit Raspberry Pi OS; Zero 2 W can run 32- or 64-bit.

    • cat /proc/device-tree/model
    • getconf LONG_BIT
  2. Run the installer for your screen’s label

  3. Check the picture, touch and brightness

  4. See what the installer changed (optional)

This is a simulation that follows our written setup guide. The installer messages and config lines come from the real installer script; boot output varies with your OS version. The installer is an engineering preview — the guide on our wiki has its current status.
